80GB PS3 on Store Shelves

Sony's 80GB PS3 goes on sale today with a $599 price tag (which was the price of the original 60GB model). The 60GB model was lowered down to $499 a few weeks back, but when they're gone, they're gone, and we'll be left with paying the same price for a PS3 that we would have to start with anyway.

Rumor has it a more accurate Sixaxis controller is packaged with the new 80GB model, but other than that and the 20GB extra, there's not much different from the 60GB model. Hopefully by the holidays the 60GB models will be gone and Sony will lower the price of the 80GB down by $100 or so (to at least attempt to keep up with the XBox 360 price cut recently). One can only hope.
