I just read that WoW hit the 10 million subscriber mark. That's a lot of people who play this game.
This all once again reminds me how I get a kick out of everyone saying, "[Insert new MMO here] will kill WoW!!!!". While new MMOs may one day overtake WoW in popularity, even if that MMO was released tomorrow, it would take years for it to reach this point, if ever. That's why I fuss at people who claim that no MMOs are good because they don't have the subscription numbers that WoW has. I completely beg to differ.
Just because an MMO doesn't have 10 million subscribers does not mean it isn't a good game, it just means that WoW is the king of the hill and it will take a lot of time and hard work for another MMO company to reach that point of success.
