After about a month and a half break from WoW, I broke down and renewed my subscription (and cancelled my LotRO subscription at the same time). Its 100% true what they say - you may leave for a while, but you'll be back. All the Wrath of the Lich King hype of the last week or two got to me. I rag a lot on WoW for being unoriginal and not pursuing innovative game play, but some of the information released did sound interesting. Needless to say, I'm not really playing a whole lot and mostly focusing on my tauren druid on an RP server these days.
Speaking of which - Hellfire Peninsula quests are pure and utter hell with normal quest greens and a couple quest blues from pre-Outland. Maybe its just the fact that I'm a melee class, for all intents and purposes. I don't recall having this much trouble on my mage when I took it through Hellfire (although I think I did a lot of it with some friends, but can't remember). I was duoing with a friend when I took my shaman through the same area. But soloing some of those quests on my druid? Horrible.
I think the transition between Azeroth questing and Outland questing should be smoother. I mean, I could bust through level 60 mobs in Azeroth for some of the last quests I did there. But when it comes to level 60 orcs or boars in Hellfire, I have to heal after every kill and if I get more than one on me, I'm pretty much toast (although I usually run away like a little girl if it comes to that).
There's not any point previous to this where you run into a difficulty spike because you're wearing green gear from the previous five levels of questing, I don't particularly see why going from level 59/60 in Azeroth to level 60/61 leveling in Hellfire should be any different. I suspect it will be more of the same transitioning between level 70 Outland leveling and level 70/71 Northrend leveling when the expansion hits. Although, by that time I'll likely have four classes with at least decent blue gear (70 hunter, 70 mage, 70 shaman, soon-to-be-70 druid).
