WoW Patch 3.0.2 Goes Live

Yesterday WoW patch 3.0.2 or, more affectionately, the "Shadows of Doom" patch, went live. After a scheduled 12 hours of downtime and an addition six to eight hours of patch-up work after that, the servers are finally running steady (I think, I won't be able to log on until this afternoon).

What am I most looking forward to in this patch? Here's a list, in no particular order.

  • Achievements - Ok, I lied. This is definitely numero uno on my list of things I've looked forward to for quite some time. It will hopefully provide an endless stream of little things to do no matter how much time I have on my hands.
  • New druid talents and abilities - We're getting an out-of-combat rez at level 20 (rank 1), a snare and a warrior-like enrage (both via talents). However, the coolest thing is possibly the fact that we can use Feral Charge in kitty form now...and in stealth!
  • New pet and mount spell system - I'll be able to free up roughly 40 bag spaces just from vanity pets alone. This isn't even including mounts and, by extension, Badges of Justice and PVP tokens.

Now, all I have to do is hope the servers stay up and get home this afternoon, then I can start enjoying this patch. ;)
