XBox 360 is in the House

It finally happened. I finally bought an XBox 360. I've been a Sony boy for quite a while, but the strides Microsoft has made in the gaming industry the last few years can't be ignored. Neither can the long line of RPGs that have hit the console this last year and the ones to come. I bought the mid-range model, the 60GB one.

Along with it I bought Fable 2, one of the games I was most interested in this year. (Side note: I can't seem to put the controller down when playing that game, as my wife can attest. I think I played it for about eight hours straight yesterday.) I did sign up for the free month of XBox Live Gold that came with the system, to try things out, although I'm not extremely interested in playing anything online.

I do like the new interface that was released recently, although I could do without the Mii-like avatars. Its usually easy to find what I want, except in the video store. But, I doubt I'll be shopping there much anyway. I'm not a big video downloader unless its game trailers, developer diaries or The Guild episodes.

Needless to say, I'll now be able to play many games that I couldn't in the past, including but likely not limited to the following:

Lost Odyssey
Mass Effect
Too Human

Tales of Vesperia
Infinite Undiscovery
Fable 2
The Last Remnant (not an exclusive, but also not hitting the PS3 until next year)
Star Ocean: The Last Hope (coming in March '09)

Now I'll just have to split my five days off work between finishing Persona 4 and building my real estate empire in Fable 2...
