We're in the middle of a ginormous winter storm. But, this one is kind of weird. It started off as freezing rain this morning. On my drive to work I had to be rather careful (although it wasn't as bad as it could have been). Just about every school in eastern Iowa was cance
lled. It was one of those kind of winter mornings. Then, probably a couple hours ago, the freezing rain was demoted to just plain rain.
Right now we're in the midst of a band of plain rain. However, a look at weather.com shows that it won't be that way forever. Later this afternoon and evening that rain will be promoted once again to freezing rain and then, ultimately, to snow.
Our apartments seem to lose power at the drop of a hat, so I'm hoping things won't get too bad. I guess we'll have to wait and see. This morning wasn't as bad as I expected.
