Blogger Wins!

A few days ago I posted about how I was considering switching my blog over to Wordpress. They have some features that impress me, however there is a bigger loss of features, in my opinion. Wordpress doesn't allow you to edit the CSS and display it on your site unless you pay for it. Also, to my knowledge, there is no way to adjust the template you choose to fit your liking.

In other words, if I want to edit my link color, I have to pay for it. If I want to change some text on the templates, I can't. No thanks. Keep the stuff you have but take a lesson from Blogger and add in some easier free tools to allow your users to customize their blog. That's what blogging is all about - expressing yourself, doing your own thing. Unless I missed something, Wordpress is limiting that with pay-to-use core customization features and not allowing the user to edit their template.

I may "back up" my Blogger blog over at Wordpress once a week or so (using their import feature), just in case Blogger decides to pull something on me like they did on Joe Mallozzi's blog (doubtful since I don't get near as much traffic, but still...). You can check out my Wordpress set up here, but it will only be updated once every week or two when I decide to import the new posts.
